Cheap shots and do-wah-diddy

Via Cognitive Dissidence.
Voting fraud unexpectedly exists!
A Wisconsin insurance executive and Republican donor was charged with voting illegally more than a dozen times in four elections.
The Journal-Sentinel reported that 50-year-old Robert Monroe was caught as a result of an investigation into a possible illegal voting by his son in Waukesha County. But after his son denied requesting an absentee ballot from his father’s address in Shorewood, suspicion turned to Monroe.
A complaint claimed that Monroe voted five times in Gov. Scott Walker’s (R) recalled election. He also was accused of voting illegally in a 2011 Wisconsin Supreme Court election, a 2012 primary, and the 2012 presidential election. (Raw Story)
And yet they had a voter ID law. At the time. Can't imagine why that didn't stop him. Is that what they're talking about when they say IOKIYAR?

John O'Sullivan in the National Review:
Former prime minister Tony Blair and the current crisis in Iraq have somehow become entangled in the British public mind. Blair himself is slightly responsible for this confusion — and for the greater confusion that flows from it — because he chose the moment of Iraqi crisis to claim that he, Bush, the West, and the Second Gulf War are not responsible for the wave of violent Islamism...
That British public mind is certainly wacky, huh? Next thing you'll know they'll be thinking Rupert Murdoch is some kind of criminal!

When we heard that Chelsea Clinton was pregnant and the noise machine immediately hopped on the idea that this must be part of the Hillary Clinton campaign strategy, I commented at the Frogpond:

Wow, those Clintons will do anything for a vote, huh? Even breed! One day, God forbid it should be too soon, Clintons are going to start dying, and Politico and Wapo are going to be right on it wondering what the strategic payoff is.

Sure enough, and much sooner than expected:
An author who Fox News hosts insisted had “impeccable” sources told the network on Tuesday that former President Bill Clinton had considered using his own death to help Hillary Clinton win the presidency. [Author Ed Klein claimed] that Bill Clinton had smiled when he was diagnosed with a “progressive” heart condition because the term sounded liberal.
“And he’s discussed with Hillary, according to people who were in the room with them when he did it, what would happen if he died,” Klein said. “What should Hillary do? And what is said is, ‘Hillary, you should put on widow’s weeds, dress in black, and it would be worth a couple of million votes.” (Raw Story)
