Cheap shots and rift concepts: Happy Valentine's Day!

From the Heritage Foundation.
"Darling, I love you so much I've decided to get Cardinal Dolan to personally decide whether our health insurance is going to cover your birth control or not. It's like having Beyoncé perform for you while you clean the bathroom. You can have some chocolate next year."

And a Valentine bouquet of stupid below the fold!

Sume are born great...

Let's see: Sume are to stupid as... No, I don't get it. Dr. Google informs me that Sume is the name of Greenland's first successful rock band, formed 1972, and I can't even tell you how pleased I am to learn that and pass it on, but I don't quite see...

We write letters. Monday, February 10
I'm just astounded at the way Cokey Roberts told the listeners this morning that CBO has found the Affordable Care Act will cost the nation two and a half million jobs and that any disagreement with that reading on Democrats' part is "spin". That line is false, as Politifact has clearly shown in regard to Gretchen Carlson's assertion of the same thing on Fox News last Tuesday. http://www.politifact.com/punditfact/statements/2014/feb/05/gretchen-carlson/carlson-cbo-says-obamcare-will-cut-full-time-jobs-/. In fact the report finds that THE NUMBER OF JOBS WILL INCREASE http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/wp/2014/02/05/cbo-director-obamacare-will-reduce-unemployment/ while it is the number of workers (in FTEs) that will shrink, BY WORKERS' FREE CHOICE. I hope you will issue a correction.
[I leave the misspelling of "Cokie" as evidence of how distraught I was made by her stupid commentary. And absolutely not as a guess as to what she may be smoking.]

It was Adam and Eve, not Adam and Bonzo

See here for a brief note on the events that led Robertson to his startling views. MPT/CLIPART.COM
Pastor Mark Creech chastising REVEREND PAT ROBERTSON for his libertine socialist acceptance of the theory that earth is more than 6000 years old:
“Did Adam stoop and his knuckles drag the ground when he walked with God in the garden?” Creech pondered. “Did Eve grunt when God asked her what she had done when she ate from the forbidden tree? If the first couple were just early advanced forms of primate, how responsible for their actions could they possibly be? The whole concept is rift with foolish suppositions and ridiculous inquiry. Is this what it means to be made in the image of God? Surely not!”
Apparently that's why it happened in the Rift Valley. In a freakishly rare occurrence, the foolish suppositions and ridiculous inquiry were in perfect balance.

The Twitchy one:
If Todd were president the media would be doing more than drooling, I can assure you.

Lego my foot!

the Fox Business Network has found another children’s movie that is clearly promoting an “anti-business” agenda. Ladies and gentlemen, bewareThe Lego Movie.
The first thing you need to know, according to Fox Business host Charles Payne, is that the film features a character who is actually named President Business. He’s voiced by Will Ferrell and “looks a little bit like Mitt Romney.”
This is a purely defensive gambit on Romney's part; he's gotten wind of Lego's plan to sue him for infringing on their copyright by adopting that square-headed modular-assembly look. After all they were marketing in 1949, years before Romney's design had been fully engineered.

Stone Walls Do Not a Prison Make department
Dear Mr. Fuckity,

I don't understand the international extradition system. Everybody I know says Assange was charged with a crime in Sweden and went to the Ecuadorean embassy to avoid detention. How did they get him and uncharge him after all?

Hopefully,

Y.

Joe Barton gets to the bottom of climate change

And as a bonus, we now understand where El Niño comes from. It's all those damn sailboats.
